There are several ways to get to North Cyprus. Most visitors arrive at one of the international airports in either South or North Cyprus, although there are also passenger and car ferries from Turkey to North Cyprus.
1) By air
There are two ways to fly into Northern Cyprus.
One option is to fly into Ercan Airport located in Northern Cyprus, where you will need to briefly touchdown at a Turkish airport in Turkey on the way. Another option is to fly into Larnaca Airport or Paphos Airport in the southern part of Cyprus, and then from there, cross to the Northern Cyprus across the border.

✅ For Republic of Turkey and European Union citizens; only a valid passport or identity card is required to fly directly into Ercan Airport in North Cyprus, with no requirement of a special visa. Upon arrival at the airport you are issued a tourist visa from 30 to 90 days, depending on the purpose of your stay.
For the third country nationals, it is within the discretion of the Council of Ministers to decide which third country nationals are required to obtain a visa before arriving to North Cyprus. In this context, citizens of the Republic of Armenia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Arab Republic of Syria are required to obtain a visa from North Cyprus. It is recommended to make visa applications at least one month in advance of the intended travel date if possible and have a passport valid for at least 6 months on the date of visa application. Other third country nationals may be granted a visa up to 90 days (depending on the purpose of visit) at the designated ports and border crossings, if they can prove that they will leave the country within the specified period and they fulfil other conditions stipulated in this Regulation. The length of stay granted at the designated ports and border crossings of North Cyprus cannot exceed 90 days within a period of 180 days.
Also, please note that if you hold a non-European or non-Commonwealth passport, and you are flying to Larnaca or Paphos Airports in the southern part of Cyprus, then you will need a Schengen visa.
No visa is required from those who have legal residence status in the country or have a residence permit.
2) By sea
There are 2 ferry routes operating between Turkey and Cyprus. These routes are either from Mersin or Alanya Harbours in Turkey to Kyrenia or Famagusta Harbours in North Cyprus. The journeys last approximately 6-9 hours.
