Currency of Northern Cyprus
The official currency of Northern Cyprus is the Turkish Lira. However, all shops and restaurants accept euros, dollars or British pounds.
⠀
👆 Attention – when paying with foreign currency, be prepared to get change in Turkish lira.
⠀
💵 Exchange money on the island is not difficult. This can be done at the exchanger or at a bank branch. For exchange offices do not require a passport, so if you went to feed donkeys or spend the whole day on the beach and forget your passport in your room, that’s okay.
⠀
For exchange, it is best to take with you foreign currency – dollars or euros. There will be no problems with their exchange. ❌ We do not recommend taking your national currency with you, unless you want to give it to the Cypriot as a souvenir.
⠀
All restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels accept Visa and Mastercard cards, which greatly simplifies the procedure of storing cash in your pocket 💳
⠀
If you still need cash, you can easily withdraw it from a card at an ATM. Here it is worth paying attention to the fact that for such an operation the ATM will withdraw your commission‼
